Building the lightweight bench seats
Talking about the fitting of the lightweight bench seats – lets take a look at the first fitting of the test brackets – the frame is there in the background:
The carbon fibre was moulded around the edge of the float and then we made a wooden support frame while we positioned the newly painted thin wall tubing for the bench seat frame:
Here we have a close up of the spacers between the bracket and the frame:
We then cleaned up the brackets so they look a lot nicer!
Here we can see a close up of the seat frame with the wire stay:
and from this angle we see how the stay attaches to the float:
and finally here you can see the lightweight seat cover from underneath – showing how it is attached:
